Project title:
Introduction of a new product by Polbrass Ltd. into the market, namely metal foils and strips with a shaped side edge, through the implementation of modern deburring and edge forming technology.

The subject of the project is an investment in the development of the company and increasing its competitiveness. The aim of the project is to implement an innovative solution involving the production of foils and strips with a specially shaped side surface. This project is a response to current market demand.
The innovative technology to be implemented by the Applicant involves removing burrs from the edges of foils and strips, and additionally shaping this edge (usually rounding). Deburring involves removing sharp material residues, called burrs, from the edges of the strip left after cutting. The purpose of deburring is to blunt sharp edges that can cut the skin upon touching, but essentially the key feature will be a technological property – facilitating further processing of the material, e.g., tinning the edges and producing transformers.

Introduction to the market of a new product, namely metal strips with a thickness from 0.02 mm, through the purchase of modern and innovative machines for their production on a global scale.

The subject of the project implemented by Polbrass Ltd. and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund was an investment in modern equipment for cutting and rewinding materials, including for metal products in motion (a process innovation applied globally within three years). Thanks to the use of innovative solutions in the cutting process, it was possible to introduce a completely new product to the company’s offer, namely metal strips (copper, brass, bronze foils) with a thickness from 0.02 mm while maintaining very sharp dimensional tolerances.
